Auto-Discovery: a weekend escape to Charlevoix with Lincoln Canada

Sometimes all you need is to escape the ordinary and create an adventure. This season, we teamed up with Lincoln Canada for an auto-discovery through weekend escapes: discovering a new car and discovering something new about myself. Charlevoix has been on our bucket list for a very long time and very often, the minute we have a weekend off, we tend to book a flight to travel. However, sometimes all you need is a car and a map and you can surely find the most amazing places in your own backyard. Our journey started with a 4 hour ride to Charlevoix. The most important thing when you have a long road ahead is a cozy car and snacks, obviously. For this trip to Charlevoix, we tested the 2018 Lincoln MKZ, I'm talking nothing but comfort. 

Parfois, tout ce dont vous avez besoin est d'échapper à l'ordinaire et de créer une aventure. Cette saison, nous avons fait équipe avec Lincoln Canada pour une découverte automobile à travers des escapades de week-end: découvrir une nouvelle voiture et découvrir quelque chose de nouveau sur moi-même. Charlevoix fait partie de notre liste depuis très longtemps et très souvent, la minute où nous avons un week-end, nous avons tendance à réserver un vol pour voyager. Cependant, à certains moments, tout ce dont vous avez besoin est une voiture et une destination et vous pouvez certainement trouver les endroits les plus incroyables dans votre propre cour. Notre voyage a commencé avec un trajet de 4 heures à Charlevoix. Mes deux points les plus importants quand je sais que nous avons une longue route est une voiture confortable et des collations, évidemment. Pour ce voyage à Charlevoix, nous avons testé la Lincoln MKZ 2018, aussi connu sous le nom de confort ultime.

The interior cabin seriously gives you the best experience in terms of comfort and that's exactly what you need when you know you will be spending a good amount of time in your car. We are talking massaging seats, heated seats, personalized ambiant lighting which means I also made the lighting all pink to match my happy mood. 

La cabine intérieure vous offre la meilleure expérience en termes de confort et c'est exactement ce dont vous avez besoin lorsque vous savez que vous passerez une bonne partie de votre temps dans votre voiture. Nous parlons de sièges massants, de sièges chauffants, d'un éclairage ambiant personnalisé, ce qui signifie que j'ai également rendu l'éclairage tout rose pour correspondre à ma bonne humeur.

First things first, can we talk about the fact that you can start your car from your phone...yes, you heard it right. Lincoln has a an app called the Lincoln Way App that helps you operate your vehicle remotely, pin parking and even has a personal concierge, how amazing and useful is that. 

Tout d'abord, pouvons-nous parler du fait que vous pouvez démarrer votre voiture à partir de votre téléphone ... oui, vous avez bien entendu. Lincoln a une application appelée Lincoln Way qui vous aide à utiliser votre véhicule à distance, localiser un stationnement des épingles et a même un concierge personnel, vraiment le rêve.

4 hours later, we arrived at the beautiful LeGermain Charlevoix where we relaxed for the night in order to be in perfect shape for our morning activity: dog sledding aka bucket list material. 

4 heures plus tard, nous sommes arrivés à l'hôtel LeGermain Charlevoix où nous nous sommes détendus pour la nuit afin d'être en forme pour notre activité matinale: du traîneau à chiens, un vrai rêve!

From the comfort of my hotel room, I was able to start our 2018 Lincoln MKZ via the Lincoln Way App and off we went to dog sledding. On the road, I was taking advantage of the amazing views and making Ever stop every 10 minutes, to pop my head out from the huge retractable panoramic glass roof to snap some pictures of this amazing region. 

Du confort de ma chambre d'hôtel, j'ai pu démarrer notre Lincoln MKZ 2018 via l'application Lincoln Way et nous avons pris la route pour notre activité de traîneau à chiens. Sur la route, je profitais de la vue incroyable et faisais un arrêt toutes les 10 minutes, pour sortir ma tête de l'énorme toit en verre panoramique rétractable pour prendre quelques photos de cette incroyable région.

Our dog sledding adventure was absolutely breathtaking, this was something that was on our bucket list for so long and I literally had a smile on my face for the full 3 hours. This activity made me realize that I need to spend time in nature once in a while to resource and kind of reset my mindset. We sled around the amazing woods for almost 3 hours, taking the beautiful scenery in and just being disconnected, which was absolutely amazing.

Notre aventure en traîneau à chiens était absolument folle et c'était vraiment quelque chose qui était sur notre liste depuis si longtemps. J'avais littéralement un sourire pendant les 3 heures complètes. Cette activité m'a fait réaliser que je dois passer plus de temps dans la nature, de temps en temps pour me ressources et remettre mes pendules à l'heure. Nous avons passé près de 3 heures dans les bois, à vraiment apprécier le beau paysage et juste être déconnecté, ce qui était absolument incroyable.

After spending some time in nature, I realized how important it is to take care of our planet by reducing our fuel consumption. Driving a hybrid car such as the 2018 Lincoln MKZ can really make a difference. It's a simple as not having your engine on and when you go the corner grocery store to pick up some milk, which is something I loved from the 2018 Lincoln MKZ. Using this type of car for long road trips is definitely something I will be conscious of during our next trips. Absolutely loved discovering nature, exploring a new corner of my province and enjoying a new car that really fits with my lifestyle and daily needs. 

Après avoir passé du temps dans la nature, j'ai réalisé à quel point il est important de prendre soin de notre planète en réduisant notre consommation de carburant. Conduire une voiture hybride comme la Lincoln MKZ 2018 peut vraiment faire la différence. C'est aussi simple que de ne pas avoir votre moteur en marche du tout quand vous allez à l'épicerie du coin pour ramasser du lait et c'est ce que j'ai aimé de la Lincoln MKZ 2018. L'utilisation de ce type de voiture pour de longs voyages est J'ai adoré découvrir la nature, explorer un nouveau coin de ma province et profiter d'une nouvelle voiture qui correspond vraiment à mon style de vie et à mes besoins quotidiens.
